From creator and performer Jim Vetter:
The stories recounted in Keeping Secrets reflect my memories and lived experiences, with some incidents combined or compressed for dramatic purposes. I changed the names of other young people in these stories to protect their anonymity.
In my experience, the term “solo show” is a misnomer. Through the course of developing this piece, I’ve discovered that it takes the proverbial village to create a solo show.
It is impossible for me to give adequate thanks to the many people and groups who have been providing creative collaboration, expertise, encouragement, and support in creating and sharing Keeping Secrets. This show would quite literally not exist without you and I am grateful for the part that each of you has played in this project and in my life. You are collectively responsible for the success of this show; its shortcomings are my responsibility alone.
I apologize in advance to anyone I may have inadvertently omitted from this list.
My deep gratitude goes to Mike Lew, The Next Step Counseling and Training; Jay Sefton, Unreconciled; Martin Moran, The Tricky Part and All the Rage; Tony Rizzuto, Abuse Prevention Solutions; Lyn Dillies, Magic of Lyn; The Cube performers peer feedback group (Alex Feldman, Peter Gross, Carol Densmore, Judith Black, Jackson Gilman, Galen Brandt, Deborah Rocha); Tyler Twombly; Evan Northrup; Vic D’Ambrosio; Mike Mell; Liz Reading; Karen Adelman; Kristin Lauer; Deborah Henson-Conant; Deby Xiadani & Anton Monteleone, Boston Fringe Festival…MORE TO COME SOON!
Of course, my deep gratitude goes to Fran Pulver, whose friendship, expertise, encouragement, and support over many decades have been key to my development as a performer and as a person.
And, most of all, my deepest love and appreciation go to Alister D’Monte, smart, caring, talented, thoughtful, handsome, romantic Alister, who is committed to this show and to bringing positive change to the world in many ways. Alister has brought innumerable positive changes to my life. The loving relationship that Alister and I share—this is what I want.
